Spicy Vodka Sauce

Serve with pasta, chicken or shrimp, if desired.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup (50 ml) tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup (75 ml) vodka
  • 2/3 cup (150 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed
  • salt and coarsely ground black pepper to taste
  • cooked pasta, chicken or shrimp (optional)

Directions:

  • Place pepper flakes, tomato paste, vodka and cream into appropriate size bowl from Pinch Bowl Set.
  • Add oil to (1.5-qt./1.4-L) Saucepan; heat over medium-high heat 2-3 minutes or until shimmering. Add garlic; cook 30-45 seconds or until fragrant (do not brown). Add tomato paste; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until tomato paste begins to caramelize. Add vodka and pepper flakes; cook 2 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken. Add cream; bring to a simmer and immediately remove from heat. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Serve with pasta, chicken or shrimp, if desired.
