Air Fryer Plantain Fries
Plantain fries are a tasty and healthy snack. A really good substitute for potato fries. Raw banana or plantain are high fibre and taste very close to potato while being less starchy.
Ingredients:
- 2 plantains
- ½ tsp. pepper
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. paprika
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. turmeric
- 2 tsp. olive oil
Directions:
- This recipe is really easy to make. Peel the plantains and cut it into ½” thick fries using a sharp knife. Take the cut fries in a shallow bowl and toss with the seasonings and oil to coat each fry well.
- Preheat air fryer at 390F or 200C for 5 minutes. Lay the seasoned plantain fries in one layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 390F or 200C for 10 minutes till the fries are golden and slightly crispy outside and cooked inside. If you need them browner air fry for a couple of minutes more.
- That’s it. Take them out and serve hot as a nice and filling snack. Your plantain fries are ready to eat. Serve with ketchup or dip of choice. You can also serve them as a side to your mains.
