What you will learn
Embark on a culinary journey to New Orleans in this hands-on cooking class. Let Chef Kira guide you through essential techniques and traditions of New Orleans cuisine. You'll learn about the differences between Cajun and Creole cooking and discover how to prepare a selection of signature dishes. First, Chef Kira will show you how to store and handle seafood so it is at its peak when ready to eat. Then, learn how to craft popular specialties such as charbroiled oysters, shrimp and grits and New Orleans-style crawfish boil. Round things out nicely by making your very own beignets for a sweet and indulgent finish. Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
